Postdoctoral Fellow (Fall 2008):
The Program in Inter (Stellar+Galactic) Medium at the University of California Observatories/Lick Observatory and UC Santa Cruz invites applications for a non-ladder-rank position in the UCO/Lick Obsveratory. The appointment is nominally for three years, beginning fall 2008. The program combines leading observational projects on the I(S+G)M and theoretical studies which emphasize large-scale simulations of the I(S+G)M and includes faculty Aguirre, Krumholz, Mathews, Madau, and Prochaska. Group members have access to the Keck and Lick Observatories and the recently commissioned Pleiades super computer at UCSC. Observers and theorists interested in I(S+G)M research are encouraged to apply. Details on the Program can be found at http://pisgm.ucolick.org. Candidates should have research experience in the field of the interstellar or intergalactic medium. Candidates should also have experience with proposal writing, have a strong publication record, and possess the ability to work independently.
